Hello, Millenial Readers!

I’m happy to see you here again to find out what we have prepared for you this day. Are you planning to go to college or do you know someone who is going to college this year? It could be your sibling, cousin, or friend. This message is for you. If you or someone you know falls into the category I just mentioned, you’re probably aware that it has been a stressful time for our Generation Z candidates of 2022. The Kuccps placement process started in June and it has been filled with a lot of uncertainty, confusion, and anxiety.

The initial placement results were released about two weeks ago, and now the second revision is underway for those who didn’t get placed in the first round. The final list will likely be out this week. The results have brought excitement to those who have been accepted into their desired institutions and chosen career courses. However, what about those who didn’t get placed in their dream campus or preferred courses? The Millenial News is here to offer you hope and provide guidance on how you can potentially switch to your dream campus or career course. Here’s what you can do.

Inter-Institutional Transfer

The Kuccps CEO John Muraguri said, “The Inter-institutional transfer is done online. This means that applicants log onto their students portal fill an application form, download and print it.

From that statement alone we see the possibility of getting to your dream institution despite not being placed there initially by Kuccps. So can you put your disappointment or frustration  away, breathe in and out, relax and let’s take you step by step on how to do it;

  • Do an online transfer application just as the CEO said and submit it to the receiving institution.
  • The institution receiving it endorses the transfer application received through its portal.
  • The Learning institution where you were initially placed clears you through their portal.
  • The endorsed application then comes to the CEO of Kuccps for approval where a transfer letter is generated and made accessible by both institutions(the one that has released you and the one that is now receiving you) and the applicant who is you.
  • You then download the approved transfer letter and take it to your now institution of choice for admission.

Isn’t that exciting enough to learn!

Inter-Faculty Transfer (Changing Courses)

What if I got my dream Campus or College however the course I am called to do isn’t what I want to pursue as my career later? Here is what to do my fellow younger Gen Zs.

Inter-faculty transfer applies to those who just want to change courses but remain at the same institution/university.

The requirements for this is first you must have applied for Kuccps placement before and have been placed for admission in the institution of learning. For example, Technical University of Kenya to do Bsc Marine Sciences. Lastly, you meet the minimum requirements and cutoff points of the course you want to change to.

Once this is requirements are met, this is how to go about it.

  • Inter-faculty transfers are done through your institution upon admission. Usually, most institutions give an application period for transferring courses within the first few weeks of admission.
  • After that, the institution (your specific department)will process your request and approve or reject it. The rejection reasons will vary and may be due to the available capacities to accommodate more students into that specific course.

Now that you really need to change that course, ensure that you inquire from your institution as soon as possible. I  advise you to ask for this on the first day of admission or orientation.

I’m sure this was so informative to you, so do this for me, share it with your friends or anyone you think needs to learn this and let’s meet again next Tuesday for more. Thank you and byeee.
