Oats are considered one of the healthiest grains on Earth, packed with essential vitamins, minerals, fibre, and antioxidants. The benefits they offer are numerous, and it’s easy to see why they’re highly regarded for their nutritional value.

When it comes to overnight oats, the possibilities are endless. You can customize them to your liking, creating a diverse range of flavours and combinations that suit your preferences. This means you have full control over the taste and can take the driver’s seat in creating your own unique blend of ingredients. Let’s get to it.

Ingredients

1.  ½ cup oats

2.  ½ cup milk, (any milk will work)

3.  ¼ cup plain yogurt or ¼ cup more milk

4.  1-2 teaspoons maple syrup /honey/your preferred sweetener

5.  1 teaspoon chia seeds, optional

6.  ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, optional

7.  Pinch of salt

8.  Toppings of choice: fruit, nut butter, nuts, seeds, etc.

Preparation

  1. Add oats, milk, yoghurt, maple syrup, chia seeds, vanilla and sea salt into a jar or storage container with a lid. Stir ingredients together. (You can also incorporate different flavours at this point).  Place in the fridge overnight. If you’re in a rush you can shorten the soak time to 2-4 hours.
  2. The next morning (or when ready to eat), remove the lid and stir. You can add a little more milk to loosen the mixture if it’s too thick. Top with your favourite toppings and enjoy.
  3. Overnight oats should last up to 5 days in the fridge in a sealed airtight container.

Overnight oats are an incredibly convenient breakfast option for busy mornings when you don’t have time to prepare a full meal. They are not only packed with essential nutrients, but they are also filling, ensuring you stay satisfied for the next few hours without worrying about what to eat next.

Don’t forget to share this wonderful breakfast idea with your friends and family, and feel free to comment below on the flavours you enjoy adding to your overnight oats. Your feedback and suggestions are always welcome!

With that, I wish you a fantastic week and an even more amazing weekend ahead. And to all my Muslim brothers and sisters, Eid Mubarak!
