First things first, happy national coquito day!

As we get close to the end of the year which is 10 days  from now most of us millennials are open to the ideas of different activities to mark the end of the year.

Well, 2020 has not been an easy year for those who have not seen the entrance to the hospitals have a lot to be thankful for.

And for those who have been to the hospitals once or twice without forgetting those who have been in and out of the hospitals numerous times we are all praying for good health that is our common prayer.

For the air we breathe, for the beautiful sunrise at the edge of our windows, for the hot days that end with the yellow-orange sunset not forgetting the windy nights we are grateful for all this.

Not everyday is a peaceful day but for the fact that you wake up and afford to smile we do not take that for granted, we all have different struggles but for the weird/simple reasons that you put on the strength to push on to tomorrow we as Millenials News love you for that.

We have been loud all year on mental health awareness issues and as we come close to the end of the year the message we spread is “YOUR LIFE MATTERS” . It may not seem like so but trust me, you are a blessing to 1 out every 10 people, so NEVER GIVE UP we are counting on you to not let go.

To all the millennials who want to either go big or go home as a symbolic act to end the year in style, here are some activities you could try;

1. Dine in a Kenyan restaurant

Visit a fancy hotel that you haven’t been to with your clique of friends. Well, a few that marveled me in 2019 are;

  • Bao Box Restaurant in Westlands they got game and I literally mean this, the place is like a mind blow of all board games the experience you leave with there is a taste of Jumanji.
  • The Collective Restaurant at View Park Towers in Nairobi their name says it all. A hotel that appreciates divine art starting with the different paintings on the walls. This place is heavenly,a mix of admirable and intriguing.

 Every Friday evening and Saturday afternoons they got you covered with beautiful voices of live bands who make your day magical. Their slogan is art food music, I simply can’t get enough of the place.

  • Heavenly well if you are looking for a chilled spot at the center of Nairobi strain no more Heavenly is the place to be. Their food and services are top notch.

2. Book an air bnb

In instances where you want to get out of the city,you live in for a few days and want an affordable experience where you get to cook and have your personal space without having to escape your weird normal routines then with air bnbs you can never go wrong. Book online and choose the package you want.

3. Give a helping hand

You can’t feel loved without giving out love, it’s more than a one man’s show. Visit a children’s home close to you. Those clothes you no longer wear and are in shape, toys, food, take this time to share with those who do not have and  put a smile on a child as the year ends. Christmas is about giving cheerfully and loving genuinely.

4. Engage in fun activities

A list of some fun activities thou not limited too this include;

  • Escape room Kenya – gather a team of 3 to 7people, go to the website book your time slot, arrive 15min early before your game starts , enter your chosen room, then work together to solve clues and decipher codes.
  • Imax

Both 3D and 7D are what you need to enhance a theater experience.

  • High ropes experience at diguna in Rongai

Ultimate high ropes is located in AIC Diguna, Ongata Rongai and it is a great place for groups whose members are thrill seekers. The spot is located next to Masai Lodge and it features a tightrope walking course challenge. The ropes are several metres above the ground and members have belts fastened for safety. Each course has its own challenge and it takes courage and balance to walk on a tightrope or jump onto suspended ropes that have wooden planks.

  • Go up to the KICC

Never been at the top of KICC worry not its  200shs. I have been there severally, and I always get a nostalgic feeling each time. The reason I go is because I always go there to ease tension when I’m a bit stressed.The wind blowing hard and the soft whistle gives me a feeling of being on top of the world.

  • Indoors rock climbing

There’s indoor rock climbing at Climb Blue Sky in Diamond Plaza, Parklands which is great for small groups and even kids. They also organize for outdoor rock climbing, or you can go with a group to places like Rapids Camp in Sagana or Kit Mikayi in Kisumu

  • Nature walks

If you love the great outdoors, tap into your inner sense of adventure and head to The Forest. Situated in the heart of the Aberdare Ranges, in the Kereita Forest, they provide an affordable wide range of activities that will cater to your spirit of adventure.These activities include; camping, ziplining, archery, mountain biking, nature walks and fishing. Open every day, except Mondays. You can also take nature walks at Karura forest and Arboretum which is very refreshing.

  • Gift others

Buy gifts or make customized handmade gifts for those who touched your heart through the year. Show appreciation and affection to everyone who came through for you during this pandemic period,as everyone had their share of problems to deal with the fact that someone had time for you means you are special to them and they are worth a gift.

  • Get a tattoo

Matching tattoos is something I am sure 60% of all the youths will go for. Getting a tattoo means you are moving with something close to the heart as you move to the next year. Tattoos can be symbolic or at times a tattoo can just be a tattoo without having to read so much into it.

In our next article we will have a look at the different meanings to most of the tiny tattoos that we opt to go get.

As the year comes to an end let’s be kind to one another. Be the reason why someone smiles today. No one is an island so have a friend or two to keep you in check. Never quit on your life for, 1 out of every 10 people need you to be alive for them to push on therefore YOUR LIFE MATTERS.

Enjoy the festive season!!!
